“Stone forest scenic area” it said at the entrance. South East and not far from Kunming, there’s a natural spectacle – a so called “must see”. I even saw a sign “Unesco World Heritage Site” somewhere. I’m not sure if that’s true or one of the infamous Chinese counterfeits.
Anyways, it’s a truly wonderful place with bizarre sand stone formations and neatly laid out trails, little streams, lakes and lush, green lawn. I’m not sure if that justifies the entrance fee of 14 Euros, which by the way will be bumped up to 24 Euros in a few months, but I thought it was worth having a look since I’m already here. That reminds me of uploading some pictures, that’ll say much more than words. I’ll see that I’ll do that very soon.
