I really like the Lao houses. They just look as if they were from another time. All materials used for a house like that, can be found in the forest. Straw roofs, wooden walls, and all of it on stilts (tree stems). It’s very simple and charming. The guest house I’m staying at now is very affordable. And fun! Everytime someone walks up the stairs into his room, my bed rocks back and forth – well the whole house does. When I lean over the edge of my bed, I can see my bike, which is parked underneath the house, through the gaps of the wooden floor planks.
Other than that I went offroad exploring the area. Sabine joined me on her Honda Transalp.
