It’s always good to know the chef. While I was running around, trying to look important and impress the girls with my expensive camera equipment – and there are so many very pretty girls in uniforms working in this resort I’m shooting at – I missed breakfast. When I hasted down the food hall, all the buffet was cleared already :(

I was shooting in the kitchen before and I became acquainted with the chef. He had worked in Germany some years ago and was excited to practise his rather eloquent German with me. Ironically, his name is “Pan”. Not sure what it means in Lao, but it surely is funny for a chef  …in the English language. Maybe his surname is “Wok”… Not sure. Anyways, I was hungry and stood in the food hall like a 5 year old in front of the neighbours house, not knowing how to get around the dog, in order to get his football back.

Mister Pan Wok found me, quickly realised my dilemma and took me to his kitchen kingdom. I never had a breakfast as rich, divers and completely free of charge, as I had this morning…. Thank you Mister Pan.
