Always the same!
Changing brake pads is ‘Kindergarden’, changing bearings must at least be ‘High school’. Though Ever time I have to change a bearing, I’m facing the same issue – how to get the bearing shell out. Shells are tightly pressed into the casing and almost never offer a way to either lever or hammer them out of the casing.
Other cultures, other mechanics, with brilliant ideas… Again, I learnt something. The guy, on whose yard I fixed up Marianne, just welded an old screw to the bearing shell. Hitting the screw from the other side with a hammer pushed the shell out of the casing. Simple, I love it.
